Top Photography Magazine Showcases Best Products And Photographers
SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 25, 2002 - SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK) today announced that it has won a coveted Editor's Choice Award from American PHOTO Magazine for the 1 Gigabyte (GB) SanDisk CompactFlash™ card. SanDisk is the first company to offer a 1GB CompactFlash card in the popular Type I format which fits into any digital camera or device with a CompactFlash slot.
American Photo Magazine is written for professionals and advanced photographers. The July issue is the fourth annual Editor's Choice special edition.
"We looked at hundreds and hundreds of products, and narrowed our choices down to the ones that solved a real photographic problem," says Russell Hart, executive editor of American PHOTO magazine. "We chose the one-gigabyte Sandisk CompactFlash card not only because it has a fast write speed that helps make digital cameras more responsive, but because it combines ultra-high storage capacity with the thinner Type I card profile. This means that even if your camera doesn't take a Type II CF card, you can still save large numbers of high-resolution photos without a pocketful of memory cards-especially valuable given the big image files produced by today's four- and five-megapixel models."
Tanya Chuang, product marketing manager, SanDisk Corporation, said, "It's a great honor to receive the Editor's Choice Award from one of the top publications in the photography market. SanDisk is the only U.S. company shipping the 1GB Type I CompactFlash card. Our sales of the card indicate there is a growing market demand for these high-capacity cards."
SanDisk is the leading provider of solid-state storage cards including CompactFlash, SmartMedia™, MultiMediaCards (MMC), SecureDigital™ (SD) and Memory Stick®. The company also offers SanDisk Ultra™ CompactFlash cards, a line that is specifically designed for digital photographers who require a high-speed card to capture action shots or to quickly shoot many high-resolution images.
SanDisk CompactFlash and Ultra CompactFlash cards are fully compatible and interchangeable with all CompactFlash digital cameras, CF card readers and adapters and are available in capacities ranging from 32 megabytes to 1GB.
SanDisk Corporation, the world's largest supplier of flash data storage products, designs, manufactures and markets industry-standard, solid-state data, digital imaging and audio storage products using its patented, high density flash memory and controller technology.
